yeah i subbed for a while but it seems he's realized making content critical of the US gets him views so i unsubbed.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being critical of a country. That can often be the first step to making changes to improve things. If you can' be critical of your country, I feel like that's something out of '1984'..

It is one thing to be critical of the country that you are living in. It
is something different to decide to stay somewhere else while continuing
to throw shade at the place you left.

    According to whom? Who cares?

Do you believe those that move away from a fascist regime lose their right to be critical of said regime or country?

    Why?

He has his reasons for deciding to live in another country, and I don't really see anything wrong with expressing those reasons, as long as it's done in a respectful way (which I think he generally does).

My thing would be that I have left, I should be happy where I am now, and
no one should give a rat's ass what I think about some place I no longer
    am.

I should know. I moved out of a city I couldn't stand to someplace I am happier. Number of videos I have made trashing my former city: 0.

And that isn't from lack of things to trash them about.

If I was making videos about how shitty the place was I left, for me it
would mean I still wasn't happy where I am. Maybe that is just me and
other boorish people like to find stuff to bitch about.

I like where I live now because it is smaller, quieter, and feels safer

I didn't really think he's trashing the US. In the videos of his I've seen, at least, I felt like he gave reasons why he likes living in the UK and why he feels like it's not done as well in the US. I don't think he expressed any hate toward the US or was disrespectful toward the US. It's okay to have such opinions, I can see why someone would think that way, and I don't feel like that is trashing the US. But it's been a little bit since I watched one of those videos of his, so I'm probably not remembering everything he has said.

For instance, he has talked about how walkable a lot of the cities are in the UK - They often build good walking paths along roads there, making it easy to walk and ride a bicycle along the roads; on the other hand, while growing up in the US, he said he walked to school for a little while and there were sections of the road (in the US) that didn't even have a sidewalk or walkway, making it feel a bit dangerous to walk that route to school. I don't think that kind of thing is trashing the US; it's just stating an opinion.

It's like suggesting nobody should be talking about the mess going on in the US right now. It's not boorish, it's a thing that's happening. People will talk about it. If you want to think less of people for criticizing things, well, again, that's on you.

People might be curious why you decided to move away from a place, and I think that's a valid question. If some people think a certain place is a better place to live than another place, that's probably something that some people would be curious to find out about. And if you're not interested, you're free to move along. It seems odd to me to think nobody would care about why someone would decide to move somewhere else, and to criticize someone for talking about it.

If I was making videos about how shitty the place was I left, for me it would mean I still wasn't happy where I am.

I don't really see the logic there.

Maybe you didn't mention trash, but someone early in this conversation
did. I have no experience watching the person in question.

I do have experience following Josh and Jas(on), two Brits who seem to

    someone violated HIPAA laws.

No it really isn't "like" that. Americans talking about it makes sense.
I have spent far too much time in BBSing (since 1988) watching folks who
are not in the US talking smack about the US, yet when you ask them what
is going on in their country they don't want to discuss it... because they know it is a MESS, too.

If you don't think so, please read up on what is going on right now in the
UK and EU regarding social media and government control. Also read up
    some on Prince Andrew.

    Same mess, different country.

Like I said, if you have left somewhere to live somewhere "better," but
you are still bitching about where you left, you are not happy where you
are. But if you enjoy being a misery, please have at it.

So one has to be in a perfect place with no problems before it's acceptable to criticize someplace else?

This seems to be entirely about you and rules you think people should live by.

    Pretty weird.
